Notice Regarding Toll System and Automatic Payments

On March 19, 2025, the Maine Turnpike Authority experienced a system interruption with one of its toll system providers, resulting in toll transactions not being posted to customer accounts. The issue was resolved on April 14, and the backlog of tolls has been successfully posted to customer accounts. However, this process has temporarily slowed down credit card processing due to the large volume of transactions that need to be updated.

For accounts with automatic payments and a negative balance, auto payments will continue to be processed. As a result, you may notice your automatic payment being processed more frequently than usual in order to bring your account back to the appropriate balance threshold.

Please note that if you qualify for the monthly volume discount, this will not be affected by a negative balance. However, if an account is suspended at any point during a month, the customer will no longer qualify for the volume discount for that month.

"SMISHING" TEXT SCAM WARNING

Recently, some people have received scam text messages requesting payment for tolls.

Maine Turnpike Authority does not send text messages requesting toll payments.

If you receive a text message requesting payment for a toll, do not respond to it or click any links.

If you are unsure, you may check your account online at ezpassmaineturnpike.com or call our Customer Service Center, Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

 

E-ZPass Customer Service

In observance of Memorial Day, the Maine Turnpike Authority Headquarters and E-ZPass Customer Service Center will be closed on Monday, May 26th.
Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, May 27th.
